Weight and Picture Updates!

Wow – you guys.

I literally fell off the planet over Christmas break.  I had so much to do!

I took some time off over the holidays to do a million things and one of the things that got dropped to make time was writing.  But, I’m back!  And I’ve got so much to share!

Nutrisystem Update:

I’m sure you all will remember how nervous I was about Thanksgiving week and going off diet.  Well, I learned something!  I’m not afraid of Thanksgiving.  Christmas is a much longer holiday and y’all, cookies.

I ate pretty well during Christmas dinner (didn’t go nuts with carbs or sugar), but it was the occasional cookie in place of a real snack that kept me from really losing any significant weight.  The good news in all that is that I didn’t gain, but I didn’t lose anything noticeable either.

However, I have lost a total of 31.2 pounds!

That’s right you guys, I passed the big 3-0 mark!

I’m so friggin happy about this.  To be 30 pounds lighter is a lot.  It’s like, a small child, lot.  My youngest is a little over 30 pounds.  That’s like a whole human, you guys!

New Foods:

Three Cheese Chicken:

I love this one!  I’ve learned anything with noodles, you fill to the line and letting it set to absorb the water is key.  Like, mission critical.  It was pretty cheesy and a little tangy, but I found it pretty good compared to what I have been eating repeatedly.

Chicken Pot Pie:

Nope-ity, Nope-ity, nope.  Gross.  Not ordering it.  The biscuit on top felt like a year old shelf food you’d eat if the apocalypse were here and the wet shit stuff in the middle resembled the dog food I ate in an earlier post.

Let me be clear though here – Nutrisystem has some great foods.  But, they have some that are pretty dang bad, too.  I’m definitely willing to sacrifice to lose weight, but I would rather eat Nutrisystem pizza every day and be bored with selection than to eat food that may never digest in my stomach.

Strawberry Shortcake:

My sweet tooth may have sung a sweet little song on this one.  I don’t think I’ve found any Nutrisystem sweets that I don’t like.  I haven’t ordered all of them yet, but so far, the chocolate stuff (and even this) are all pretty spot on.

There are often lots of jokes on the support groups about people licking the packages.  I mean, I guess if you’ve never licked the package, you’ve never been on a real diet where it’s been that important to have that granule of sugar. 🙂

But, in all seriousness, this was a good one!  I find that leaving them on the counter to thaw is best.  They don’t always look exactly like the package, but they are pretty close.  And I think the chocolate ones are often the best at clearing my sweet tooth.

Christmas Foodies:

The sweet friend who cleans my house (if you need a recommendation, let me know – you’d love her!) gave the kids these awesome hot chocolate bombs for Christmas.  I was super proud I didn’t drink them, but I did have a homemade marshmallow.  When you get make them, you pour hot milk over them, then they open up and have hot cocoa/homemade marshmallows inside.  My kiddos LOVED it!

Check out the video of them being used!

These were from a company called Sugar Stax in Sherman, if you’re local!

Updated Pics:

I think I shared a while back that we got new photos.  Our friend Angela Jackson took our new ones (on the right) this year and it was so nice to get them back and make them into beautiful Christmas cards. I’m looking forward to new pics once I reach goal weight!

If you need pics (especially newborn!) she does amazing work and her Fresh 48 photos are just STELLAR!

Spring Cleaning:

Taking time off was super helpful this year.  I spent a lot of time getting things organized.  Lots of donations this year, lots of time spent with the kiddos, lots of time spent cleaning out closets and organizing stuff.  It just really needed to happen.  I’m super thankful for a husband that deals with my crazy but supports me when I need to get things done and just knows I’m going to go a little nuts to get it there.

New ATVs:

This has been one of the BEST Christmas gifts for the kids!

The kids are learning to drive these quite well, but it has also given them some space to do some local exploring of our place.  These are little ATVs that we didn’t spend a ton of money on, which was good because if they wreck them, I’d hate to be out the cash!  Helmets are SUPER important and the kids are SO stoked to ride and enjoy each other’s company.  And these being automatic is even more fun!

I love that you can contain the throttle speed too.  Not too fast, kids!

So, lastly, here’s the picture update!

See, I knew you’d want to stick around for the important stuff!  So, I started Nutrisystem in October 2019 – and even with my Christmas ‘I didn’t lose much’ week or two, I’m really impressed with the success I’ve had so far.

I don’t know if people just didn’t want to tell me about the tire around my stomach, but jeez.  I’m SO much happier with the loss so far and overall pretty impressed with the change in clothes.  Even looking at that picture up above I can see just being a week in how much has changed.

Dieting isn’t easy.  Making a lifestyle change is even harder.  But, it’s completely doable if you’re willing to do it and move through the process. I mean, look at this pic!  If I can do this, SO CAN YOU!  If you’re ready to save some money on it, too, I can give you a code that will get you started.  Give it a month.  I think you’d be shocked at how successful the program is.
